Bybel in Afrikaans (1983-vertaling)

Elisa het sy osse net so gelos en agter Elia aangehardloop en gesê: "Laat ek tog net my pa en ma gaan groet. Dan sal ek saam met u gaan." Elia antwoord hom toe: "Gaan as jy wil. Ek hou jou mos nie terug nie."

1 Konings 19:20

Terwyl hulle op pad was, sê iemand vir Jesus: "Ek sal U volg waar U ook al gaan."

17 Dan sal dit só wees: wie Gasael se swaard vryspring, Jehu sal hom doodmaak; wie Jehu se swaard vryspring, Elisa sal hom doodmaak.
18 Maar Ek sal in Israel die sewe duisend laat oorbly wat nie die Baälbeeld aanbid het nie."
19 Nadat hy daarvandaan af weggegaan het, kry hy vir Elisa seun van Safat besig om te ploeg met twaalf spanne van twee, terwyl hy self by die agterste span geloop het. Toe Elia by hom verbyloop, gooi Elia sy mantel op hom.
20 Hy het sy osse net so gelos en agter Elia aangehardloop en gesê: "Laat ek tog net my pa en ma gaan groet. Dan sal ek saam met u gaan." Elia antwoord hom toe: "Gaan as jy wil. Ek hou jou mos nie terug nie."
21 Toe draai Elisa om en gaan slag twee osse, en met die juk het hy die vleis gebraai en vir sy werksmense gegee om te eet. Daarna het hy saam met Elia gegaan en sy volgeling geword.

54 Toe die twee dissipels, Jakobus en Johannes, dit sien, sê hulle: "Here, wil U hê ons moet vuur uit die hemel afroep om hulle te verteer?"
55 Maar Hy het omgedraai en hulle skerp tereggewys.
56 Daarna het hulle die reis voortgesit na 'n ander dorp toe.
57 Terwyl hulle op pad was, sê iemand vir Hom: "Ek sal U volg waar U ook al gaan."
58 Toe sê Jesus vir hom: "Jakkalse het gate en voëls het neste, maar die Seun van die mens het nie eens 'n rusplek vir sy kop nie."
59 Aan 'n ander een sê Hy: "Volg My." Maar hy antwoord: "Here, laat my toe om eers terug te gaan om my pa te begrawe."
60 Toe sê Jesus vir hom: "Laat die dooies hulle eie dooies begrawe, maar gaan verkondig jy die koninkryk van God."

19 So he departed from there and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen in front of him, and he was with the twelfth. Elijah passed by him and cast his cloak upon him.
20 And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah and said, “Let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?”
21 And he returned from following him and took the yoke of oxen and sacrificed them and boiled their flesh with the yokes of the oxen and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and went after Elijah and assisted him.

56 And they went on to another village.
57 As they were going along the road, someone said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.”

“Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”
59 To another he said,
“Follow me.”
But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.”
60 And Jesus said to him,
“Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”
